HammondCare is a well-established and highly regarded independent Christian charity, providing primary care, aged and community services, and dementia, palliative care, rehabilitation, pain management, and specialist mental health services for older people. The organisation is developing its primary care footprint and is seeking a dynamic, vocationally registered GP who is passionate about improving the lives of older people through excellence in primary care. The successful applicant will lead the next stage of development of HammondCare’s aged primary care unit, based at Hammondville, in the Sydney metropolitan area.
Accommodated in a new, fully equipped building, staff of the unit will provide holistic primary care services for up to 750 people, across a range of care settings (independent living units, hostels and nursing homes), as well as to staff and their families. There are currently three part-time GPs at Hammondville, with this number expected to increase as the service develops.

New flexible opportunities in General Practice with HammondCare (located at Hammondville, Sydney)
HammondCare is well established and highly regarded independent Christian charity, providing aged and community services, dementia, palliative care, rehabilitation, pain management, and specialist mental health services for older people.
The organisation is now adding general practice services to that list. At Hammondville (close to Liverpool) is the HammondCare Centre for Positive Ageing and Care. This new facility has fully equipped medical consulting rooms and was established to provide holistic general practice services, primarily to older people living within the Hammondville campus - more than 750 people and their families – as well as to staff.
Opportunities now exist for vocationally registered GPs to join our existing GPs in this exciting new venture. This is a multidisciplinary unit and GPs are supported by medical specialists and allied health professionals. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant/s, along with flexible part time options. The School of Public Health and Community Medicine at the University of NSW is a partner, and there will be opportunities to be involved in medical student and registrar teaching, as well as participating in research. A conjoint academic appointment with UNSW may be available.
